Job Description

The Warehouse Supervisor guides and controls warehouse activities to ensure accurate storing and distributing of raw materials and finished goods. Supervises timely delivery of merchandise in the amount ordered, while maintaining the security of the warehouse. Provides a safe working environment through compliance with safety programs.

Job Responsibilities

1. Coordinates the planning and assignment of work, achieving the most efficient use of personnel and equipment.
2. Maintains inventory and helps establish inventory levels based on prior usage and future demand.
3. Receives incoming shipments and packages from various carriers and enters information into the tracking system for disbursement.
4. Inspects incoming deliveries for accuracy and quality based on the product order and rejects undesirable items.
5. Supervises the warehouse and inventory to ensure security and upkeep at all times.
6. Assists in ordering from site vendors by advising management and contacting vendors directly when needed.
7. Develops and recommends improvements in current warehouse practices to promote efficiency, faster service, and lower costs.
8. Provides training for warehouse employees and assists with employee selection.
9. Uncrates shipments as required and properly disposes of or stores containers and packaging.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in a shipping/receiving supervisor role.
• Basic mathematical skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexibility and ability to adapt to variable work demands.

This role may involve physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking or standing. Uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
