Newly Weds Foods in Chicago, IL is seeking a hands-on Warehouse Operations Leader to direct daily warehouse activities, shipping, receiving, inventory accuracy, and workforce performance on the production floor.

You will enforce GMP, HACCP, CCP, and FDA regulations, supervise forklift operators, manage labor hours, coach staff, and drive safety audits and process improvements to ensure product integrity and efficient material flow.

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree preferred and/or 5 years of work experience in related field.
• Food plant experience and knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and Allergen Protocol are required.
• Excellent math skills are required.
• Ability to lift 50 lb.
• Ability to climb ladders as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, inventory accuracy, and workforce performance.
• Supervise warehouse staff, train and motivate forklift operators, and schedule labor hours.
• Enforce GMP, HACCP, CCP, Allergen Control, Pest Control & Sanitation, and FDA Regulations.
• Conduct safety training, audits, and monthly safety checks.
• Maintain equipment maintenance for forklifts, pallet jacks, and dock gear.
• Identify bottlenecks, reduce damage/waste, and implement cost saving initiatives.
• Oversee documentation review and data collection for operational compliance.

Job description

Summary:

Performs functions directed toward ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant movement of raw materials and finishedgoods. This is a hands-on position responsible for leading daily warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, inventoryaccuracy, and workforce performance.

Essential Functions:

• Work Environment– Responsible for ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
• Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance-Enforcement of Protocols related toGMP, HACCP, CCP, Allergen Control, Pest Control & Sanitation, and FDA Regulations to prevent contamination ensuring product integrity of raw material and finished goods. Ensure all lot codes are accurately documented.
• Operations & InventoryManagement-Responsible for ensuring 100% accuracy for Shipping and Receiving Operation ensuring secure loading of finished goods, unloading of raw material, Inventory accuracy, stock rotation of raw and finished goods, and warehouse space utilization. Investigate damages to products or equipment due to warehouse personnel actions.
• Leadership & Personnel Management-Supervision of warehouse staff and daily activities.Team Supervision directing, training, and motivating warehouse lead and forklift operators.Scheduling and managing labor hours to meet production and customer demand, while ensuringcompliance to labor regulations.
• Performance Management-Coach, mentor, and conduct performance reviews for direct reports.
• Safety Training-Training employees on safe material handling practices including raw material, finished goods,Hazmat,PPE requirements, and powered industrial truck operation. Responsible for daily and monthly,walk-through safety checks.
• Safety Audits-Conduct regular Safety Audits and housekeeping inspections.
• Maintenance-Ensures our forklifts, pallet jacks, and dock equipment receive proper preventative maintenance.
• Process Improvement-Actively Involved in identifying bottlenecks, the reduction of damage/waste, and theimplementation of cost saving initiatives.
• Documentation and Data Collection- Actively involved in documentation review and data collection ensuringoperational compliance and accuracy.
• HAZMAT-Enforces and maintains proper storage and identification for Hazmat Inventory.Follows and enforce guidelines for HAZMAT shipments in accordance withIATA, FAA and DOT.
• Perform any additional tasks / special projects assigned by the warehouse manager.

Salary:

• Starting at $54,479.00 - $68,099.00 a year paid weekly.
• Plus Overtime.

Work Environment:

• The job is performed on the production floor area where the person will be exposed to strong aromas, airborne dust particles emanating from ingredients being used, and will be in the presence of or otherwise operating machinery.
