Owens & Minor, a global healthcare solutions company, is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor in North Carolina. The role coordinates receiving, warehousing, and shipping with responsibility in the absence of the Warehouse Manager and includes developing and coaching direct reports.

The position requires leadership in a warehouse setting, experience with material handling equipment, and strong scheduling and safety enforcement.

Qualifications

• Three years leadership experience in a warehouse setting.
• Material handling equipment experience such as forklift, pallet jack, etc.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists teammates in solving work problems.
• Reviews bills of lading of incoming merchandise and customer orders to plan work activities.
• Prepares truck driver’s delivery schedule with Warehouse Manager and Lead Driver.
• Assigns teammates to specific duties and verifies amounts of incoming merchandise for storage and order assembly.
• Establishes work schedules and ensures correct implementation and completion of jobs.
• Supervises Leads, warehouse teammates and other supervisors as appropriate to ensure warehouse functions are completed timely and accurately.
• Screens and hires warehouse teammates; ensures training for safe operation of equipment.
• Interprets company policies to teammates and enforces safety regulations; motivates workers to achieve goals.
• Conducts performance reviews and initiates personnel actions as needed.
• Recommends measures to improve quality and efficiency; suggests changes in working conditions and equipment use.
• Ensures adherence to Federal statutes, including DEA and OSHA regulations.
• Collaborates with non-warehouse departments to coordinate activities.
• Must be able to use Windows-based programs and retrieve reports related to job activities.
• Performs additional duties as directed.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $70,000 -$75,000. The actual compensation offered may vary based on job related factors such as experience, skills, and education.

Shift: Monday - Friday 3pm - 11pm plus overtime as necessary.

Job Summary

Responsible for coordinating and managing multiple warehouse functions including receiving, warehousing, and shipping. This position has overall warehouse operations responsibility during the absence of the Warehouse Manager. This person will be responsible for developing and coaching their direct reports.

Core Responsibilities

• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists teammates in solving work problems.
• Works with teammates to review bills of lading of incoming merchandise and customer orders to plan work activities.
• Works with Warehouse Manager and Lead Driver to prepare truck driver’s delivery schedule.
• Assigns teammates to specific duties, such as verifying amounts of and storing incoming merchandise and/or assembling customer orders for delivery.
• Establishes work schedules and ensures that the schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly.
• Responsible for supervising Leads, warehouse teammates and other supervisors as appropriate to ensure all warehouse functions are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Screens and hires warehouse teammates; ensures teammates receive the appropriate training for their job function including the efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment and warehouse machinery.
• Interprets company policies to teammates and enforces safety regulations; Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Conducts performance reviews and recommends or initiates personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary actions.
• Recommends measures to improve quality and suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency.
• Ensures total adherence to all Federal statues regarding warehouse operations including DEA and OSHA regulations.
• Works with non-warehouse departments such as Account Receivable, Purchasing, Sales, and Customer Service to ensure coordination of warehouse activities.
• Must possess a general ability to use Windows based programs and the routine ability to retrieve and utilize available reports related to essential job activities.
• Performs additional duties as directed.

Qualifying Experience

• College Degree strongly preferred
• Three years leadership experience in a warehouse setting
• Material handling equipment experience such as fork lift, pallet jack, etc.
