LARGE MANUFACTURING PLANT IN VONROE TN IS LOOKING FOR A SHARP WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR. LOOKING FOR SOMEONE SHARP WITH EXCEL, STRONG PEOPLE MANAGEMENT, MAKING IMPROVEMENTS, TRAINING PEOPLE, WORKING IN A FAST-PACED ENVIRONMENT ETC.

MUST HAVE A STRONG BACKGROUND IN RAW MATERIALS

General Description of Role

The Warehouse Supervisor will play an integral role in the manufacturing operation by providing effective leadership and direction to all Warehouse department associates while overseeing critical activities associated with incoming goods receipt, material handling & storage, parts picking/kitting, and stock control/distribution to ensure that sales and delivery requirements are achieved.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

· The Warehouse Supervisor has responsibility for achieving operational goals (safety, quality, inventory accuracy, etc.) for assigned department. This is accomplished by activities including but not limited to planning, goal setting, staff development, problem solving, and maintaining effective communication with employees at all levels across the organization.

· Provide leadership and direction to all Warehouse personnel, including development of a high-performance team that is results-oriented, while encouraging and promoting a culture of continual improvement.

· Responsible for development, succession planning, performance management, coaching, mentoring, and training of all Warehouse associates.

· Plan, organize, and direct day to day Warehouse operations while achieving process efficiency within a strong culture of teamwork.

· Facilitate continual improvement efforts related to material handling & storage systems/processes, intra-plant material delivery/presentation to point of use methods, and cross-functional procedures.

· Lead problem-solving activities related to Warehouse functions, ensuring that the true root cause is determined, and countermeasures are implemented to facilitate process improvement.

· Recommend and execute business process improvements to drive inventory accuracy. Develop and modify procedures related to Warehouse functions as needed to drive continual improvement.

· Document department processes and ensure compliance to sustain ISO certification.

· Create, monitor, report, and follow-up on department metrics to drive continual improvement throughout department processes.

· Support innovation activities that promote waste reduction, efficiency improvement, and other cost reduction opportunities for improvement.

· Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience / Skills Required

· High school diploma/GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field is preferred.

· Minimum 5 years of progressive warehouse/logistics/inventory management experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Thorough knowledge of warehouse functions, material handling, and inventory management processes/best practices.

· Basic understanding of production processes.

· Strong practical knowledge of MRP and ERP systems (QAD or SAP preferred)

· Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with ability to analyze and present metrics/KPI data.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to effectively communicate across all organizational levels as well as with customers and supplier representatives.

· Must be self-motivated and possess excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Work Environment / Physical Demands

Works across all areas of the facility. Work environment is characterized by potentially loud noises and typical production and warehouse conditions. Requires physical stamina and moderate to heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.), with or without accommodation. Work involves walking, standing, sitting, climbing, kneeling, reaching, crouching, etc.
