Job summary

Malone Workforce Solutions is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor for a Manufacturing facility near the Salt Lake City, Utah area. The role drives daily warehouse operations, safety, and on-time deliveries.

You will lead receiving, storage, picking, and shipping while maintaining inventory accuracy and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. A minimum of 2 years in warehouse leadership and SHES discipline is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, distribution, manufacturing or industrial operations is required.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience required.
• Strong understanding and commitment to Safety, Health, Environment & Security (SHES) standards.
• Experience with inventory management, shipping, receiving, material handling, and warehouse operations.
• Working knowledge of warehouse management systems, ERP systems, or inventory management software required.

Job description

We are looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to join the team! This is a full-time, direct hire position in a manufacturing facility just outside of the Salt Lake City, Utah area.

The Warehouse Supervisor will provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of warehouse operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate receipt, storage, handling, staging, and shipment of materials and finished products. This role is responsible for coordinating warehouse activities, maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting on-time customer deliveries, and leading warehouse employees in accordance with all safety, quality, and company procedures.

Responsibilities:

Safety, Health, Environment & Security (SHES)

• Lead by example and ensure all warehouse activities are performed in accordance with SHES policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a safe working environment through consistent enforcement of safety standards, proper PPE use, and safe material handling practices.
• Ensure employees are properly trained and qualified to operate forklifts, material handling equipment and other warehouse equipment.
• Conduct and participate in safety inspections, audits, toolbox talks, and required SHES meetings.
• Promptly report and investigate incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and other safety concerns.
• Ensure timely completion of corrective and preventive actions resulting from incidents, audits, and inspections.
• Maintain emergency preparedness and participate in required emergency response drills.
• Promote a proactive safety culture focused on hazard identification, risk reduction, and employee accountability.

Operational Excellence & Efficiency

• Lead daily warehouse operations, including receiving, material handling, storage, picking, staging, loading, and shipping.
• Ensure materials and finished products are accurately received, stored, identified, handled, and shipped.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, and timely investigation of discrepancies.
• Ensure proper product traceability, labeling, documentation, and system transactions.
• Optimize warehouse layout, material flow, storage capacity, and space utilization.
• Monitor warehouse productivity and identify opportunities to improve labor efficiency and operational performance.
• Maintain 5S standards and a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse.
• Ensure warehouse equipment is properly maintained, inspected, and safely operated.
• Identify and resolve operational issues that impact production, inventory, shipping, or customer service.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on waste reduction, process standardization, inventory accuracy, and material flow.
• Ensure warehouse processes and procedures are consistently followed and improved as needed.

Commercial & Cost Ownership

• Manage warehouse activities within established labor and operating cost expectations.
• Optimize staffing and overtime to meet operational requirements while maintaining cost efficiency.
• Monitor inventory levels and warehouse practices to minimize damage, loss, obsolete inventory, and unnecessary handling.
• Ensure accurate and timely shipment of finished products to support customer delivery commitments.
• Monitor DIFOT and on-time shipment performance and take corrective action when targets are not achieved.
• Partner with Production, Logistics, Customer Service, and other functions to proactively address customer and delivery requirements.
• Minimize material handling, shipping, and inventory-related costs through effective planning and process improvement.
• Ensure proper documentation and system transactions to support accurate financial and inventory reporting.

Leadership & Team Development

• Provide clear direction, supervision, and accountability for warehouse employees.
• Establish daily priorities and ensure adequate staffing to meet operational requirements.
• Coach and develop employees to improve performance, skills, safety awareness, and overall effectiveness.
• Ensure employees receive required onboarding, training, cross-training, and ongoing development.
• Monitor employee performance and address performance or conduct issues in accordance with company policies.
• Support recruiting, selection, onboarding, and retention of warehouse employees.
• Identify high-potential employees and support succession planning for key warehouse roles.
• Recognize strong performance and reinforce behaviors that support safety, quality, productivity, and teamwork.
• Build a high-performing team that understands expectations and takes ownership of results.
