Job description

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

Assists in management of inventory, shipping, receiving, and interplant transfers for the entire plant.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead a team of hourly employees to ship finished goods and receive primary packaging materials
  • Develop forecasting and communicate demand and load planning with customers, carriers, and staff; work with sales, scheduling and operations to plan full good needs based on demand and forecast data
  • Interact with customers directly and other departments to report inventories, production and shipment planning; provide daily and weekly reports per customer requirement
  • Supervise and oversee a team of temporary and union employees working on a production repack line
  • Perform monthly inventory counts for finished goods and provide gap analysis to variations
  • Ensure team adheres to proper receiving processes including accepting CoA paperwork upon delivery and ensuring accuracy and compliance with material specifications
  • Verifies materials specifications / SDS’ / Kosher compliance and maintains current work processes that are used for reporting.
  • Perform MRP system maintenance activities including closing production orders, creating and scheduling orders, receiving, printing, scanning, etc.

  • Explore and recommend alternative methods to improve systems
  • Adhere to plant policies on Safety and GMPs and maintain safety programs to minimize accidents and injuries and to ensure a safe‑working environment
  • Perform other duties and assignments as defined by your manager
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Experience working with computers and have the ability to navigate and use designated software programs; acute knowledge of spreadsheets and database management is preferred

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Operations, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is required. Three to five years relevant work experience working in a warehousing environment preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a typical warehouse/production type environment. Position requires sitting, operating a computer, telephone and other office equipment. Production and Warehouse areas have a temperature of approximately 35 - 90° F. Noise level in the production environment may require use of hearing protection. Requires the ability to stand, walk, climb stairs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40lbs.
