Job summary

Macfarlane Packaging is hiring a Warehouse Supervisor to lead daily warehouse operations at our Gloucester site. You will supervise the team, ensure goods are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently, and drive continuous improvements on the floor.

The role focuses on hands-on leadership, developing colleagues, and delivering against targets while maintaining high safety and quality standards. 45-hour weeks, with a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse environment.
• Previous team leader or supervisory experience.
• Strong understanding of goods in/out processes.
• Valid forklift licence (counterbalance essential).
• Good knowledge of health & safety practices.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Reliable, hands-on approach with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and support warehouse colleagues to maintain high-performance standards.
• Oversee goods-in, storage, picking, and dispatch activities.
• Allocate workload and manage priorities to meet delivery deadlines.
• Conduct stock checks and audits, maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Manage documentation and ensure operational accuracy.
• Work closely with internal teams to meet customer requirements.
• Identify and address performance or process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety and company procedures.

Location: Waterwells Business Park, Quedgeley, Gloucester
Salary: £35,000- £37,000 (dependent on experience) + bonus & benefits
Hours: 45 hours, Monday-Friday

The Warehouse Supervisor role

As our Warehouse Supervisor, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of warehouse operations, ensuring goods are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently and accurately.

This is a hands-on leadership role – you’ll lead by example on the warehouse floor while supporting, motivating, and developing your team to deliver against operational targets and service expectations.
