Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor
FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports To: Warehouse Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the operational success of their assigned area and/or customer. This is achieved by driving efficient use of labor and adherence to internal processes. This role is focused on delivering an exemplary level of service to our customers through inventory accuracy, warehouse organization, task prioritization, and staff leadership. This position includes oversight of cold chain operations, requiring strict adherence to temperature-controlled handling, storage, and shipping protocols.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drives teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met.
  • Trains staff and monitor their performance, progress, and service levels.
  • Responsible for general administrative duties such as responding to inquiries, timecard management and submittal, entering productivity data, etc.
  • Responsible for hiring, onboarding, daily management, performance management, promotion/demotion, coaching, and disciplinary processes for assigned employees up to and including termination.
  • Identifies key team members that can be cross trained for promotion opportunities. Actively “builds their bench” to prepare associates for future growth.
  • Promotes SOPs, ensures compliance, and drives high attention to detail to meet/exceed customer expectations.
  • Leads and maintains proper handling and storage of temperature-sensitive products within cold chain environments.
  • Ensures cold chain standards are maintained throughout warehouse operations, including accurate temperature monitoring, equipment maintenance, and compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Assist the Operations team by investigating and resolving customer concerns and support inquiries.
  • Oversee customer inventories, monitor orders and shipments—including cold chain logistics.
  • Ensures quality, delivery, and budget objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Provides recommendations for process improvements focused on workflow, personnel, space utilization, equipment, and layout, especially within temperature-controlled areas.
  • Produces regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Completes other duties as assigned by the Operations Team.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related professional experience.
  • 3+ years of industry work experience; two years of specific warehouse experience with proven results; supply chain experience required.
  • Advanced service, production, or supervisory experience in a logistics or warehouse environment.
  • Personnel management and supervisory experience required.
  • Prior experience with domestic and international logistics services.
  • Strong technological proficiency, including MS Office (particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel), web navigation, and basic hardware troubleshooting.
  • Experience with PO systems, enterprise sourcing, and inventory oversight for multiple locations.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

KEY ATTRIBUTES:

  • Ability to build quick rapport with both customers and internal Smart Warehousing teams.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
