Stewart & Stevenson is now hiring a Warehouse Supervisor at 8631 East Freeway, Houston, TX 77029.

Responsibilities:

1. Supervise the movement of parts/products and organization of the warehouse.
2. Oversee shipping and receiving, unload trucks, check in merchandise, match purchase orders to sales orders, and distribute to sales associates.
3. Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or shipped.
4. Supervise movement of materials from receiving or storage to shipping or other designated areas.
5. Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to sequence.
6. Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials and distribute accordingly.
7. Ensure warehouse accessibility and safety for staff and customers.
8. Oversee assembly of customer orders and their placement on pallets or shelves.
9. Mark materials with identifying information.
10. Record and verify amounts of materials received or distributed using appropriate computer programs.
11. Coordinate staff in physical inventory counting.
12. Perform facilities maintenance duties as assigned.
13. Complete requisition forms for supplies.
14. Prepare parcels for mailing.
15. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness.
16. Maintain a strong safety culture.
17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Supervise warehouse staff according to policies and laws.
• Assist with interviewing, hiring, training, performance appraisal, and discipline.
• Plan, assign, and direct work.
• Address complaints and resolve issues.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience/training.
• At least 3 years of warehouse and inventory experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.

Physical Demands:

• Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs, occasional lifting up to 65 lbs.
• Push/pull exertion up to 50-100 lbs.
• Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
• Manual dexterity and normal vision.
• Exposure to various environmental conditions.
• Occasional work beyond 8 hours and at heights.
