Job summary

Silgan Containers is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to oversee day-to-day warehouse operations within a manufacturing environment. You will manage receiving, shipping, inventory control, material handling, and safety initiatives to ensure efficient workflows.

The role requires several years in warehousing with supervisory experience, proficiency in MS Office, and familiarity with warehouse systems and safety best practices.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of experience in warehousing, receiving, inventory control, or materials management within a manufacturing environment.
• Two+ years of supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, receiving processes, inventory control, and material handling practices.
• Experience with safety programs and compliance in a manufacturing warehouse environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems and barcode technology; AS400 experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily warehouse supervisor oversight of receiving, shipping, inventory control, and material handling operations.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of finished goods and materials within the manufacturing warehouse.
• Ensure accurate preparation and validation of shipping documentation (Bills of Lading, manifests).
• Ensure compliance with warehouse safety procedures, material handling standards, and plant safety initiatives.
• Maintain forklift safety audits and oversee lift truck operations and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Manage inventory rotation, dunnage inventory, and space utilization within the warehouse.
• Coordinate with production, inventory control, inside sales, and plant planning to improve manufacturing workflow.
• Supervise warehouse staffing levels, work schedules, and daily workflow.
• Provide employee training, coaching, performance feedback, and documentation as required.
• Assist continuous improvement initiatives including 5S and sanitation standards.
• Prepare and manage departmental budget requirements and anticipate future material handling needs.
• Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials and international shipments, as applicable.
• Apply union contract requirements, where applicable.

What You Bring

• High School Diploma or GED

• Experience working with safety programs and compliance in a manufacturing warehouse environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems, bar code technology, and inventory systems; AS400 experience is a plus
