Job summary

Silgan Containers Manufacturing Corporation is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations in a manufacturing warehouse, including receiving, shipping and inventory control. You will supervise staffing, provide training, coach performance, and coordinate with production and planning to improve workflow while enforcing safety, 5S and compliance standards.

Experience in forklift operations, documentation accuracy, and budget oversight will be valued as you drive continuous

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years warehouse experience in manufacturing (receiving, inventory control, or materials management).
• 2+ years supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, receiving, inventory control, and material handling practices.
• Experience with safety programs and compliance in a manufacturing warehouse.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Familiarity with WMS, bar code tech, and inventory systems; AS400 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily oversight of receiving, shipping, inventory control, and material handling.
• Coordinate inbound/outbound shipments of finished goods and materials.
• Ensure accurate preparation and validation of shipping documentation (Bills of Lading, manifests).
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and plant safety initiatives.
• Maintain forklift safety audits and oversee lift truck operations and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Manage inventory rotation, dunnage, and space utilization in the warehouse.
• Coordinate with production, inventory control, inside sales, and plant planning to improve workflow.
• Supervise staffing levels, schedules, and daily workflow.
• Provide employee training, coaching, and performance documentation as required.
• Assist with 5S and sanitation standards in CI initiatives.
• Prepare and manage departmental budget requirements and anticipate future needs.
• Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials and international shipments as applicable.
• Apply union contract requirements where applicable.

What You Will Do

What You Bring

• High School Diploma or GED

• A minimum of three years of experience in warehousing, receiving, inventory control, or materials management within a manufacturing environment

• A minimum of two years of supervisory experience

• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, receiving processes, inventory control, and material handling practices

• Experience working with safety programs and compliance in a manufacturing warehouse environment

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

• Familiarity with warehouse management systems, bar code technology, and inventory systems; AS400 experience is a plus
