Job summary

Silgan Containers is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to provide daily oversight of receiving, shipping, inventory control, and material handling in a manufacturing warehouse. You will coordinate inbound/outbound shipments, validate Bills of Lading, and ensure adherence to safety procedures and plant safety initiatives.

The role requires 3+ years in warehousing with at least 2 years in supervision, strong knowledge of warehouse operations, and proficiency in MS Office; AS400 experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 3 years in warehousing, receiving, inventory control, or materials management within a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, receiving processes, inventory control, and material handling practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; AS400 experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily warehouse supervisor oversight of receiving, shipping, inventory control, and material handling operations.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of finished goods and materials within the manufacturing warehouse.
• Ensure accurate preparation and validation of shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading and manifests.
• Ensure compliance with warehouse safety procedures, material handling standards, and plant safety initiatives.
• Maintain forklift safety audits and oversee lift truck operations and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Manage inventory rotation, dunnage inventory, and space utilization within the warehouse.
• Coordinate with production, inventory control, inside sales, and plant planning to improve manufacturing workflow.
• Supervise warehouse staffing levels, work schedules, and daily workflow.
• Provide employee training, coaching, performance feedback, and documentation as required.
• Assist corporate and plant continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and sanitation standards.
• Prepare and manage departmental budget requirements and anticipate future material handling needs.
• Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials and international shipments, as applicable.
• Apply union contract requirements, where applicable.

What You Bring:

• High School Diploma or GED
• A minimum of three years of experience in warehousing, receiving, inventory control, or materials management within a manufacturing environment
• A minimum of two years of supervisory experience
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, receiving processes, inventory control, and material handling practices
• Experience working with safety programs and compliance in a manufacturing warehouse environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems, bar code technology, and inventory systems; AS400 experience is a plus
