Job description

As Warehouse Supervisor you will have the opportunity to become part of a world-class team and manage the logistics of an innovative Duty-Free retail leader. The Warehouse Supervisor will be a self-motivated, high-energy person with exceptional organizational skills and a strong desire to help the company achieve best-practice performance in workplace safety, warehouse and equipment management, and operations. Perform functions to supervise and direct warehouse operations in a Bonded, Facility Union environment. Automated and fast-paced, productivity-driven with strict adherence to US Customs rules and a keen awareness for warehouse safety. Operation with weekend coverage rotation and significant seasonal overtime. Ability to supervise 15+ employees in an operation that manages 3000+ shipments to cruise ships yearly, utilizing multi-layered warehouse management software and RF technology.

What you’ll be doing:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise staff of 15+ employees under the direction of the Sr. Warehouse Manager, measuring against set plans and productivity levels.
  • Review reports to measure productivity and address issues promptly.
  • Oversee multiple departments involved in manual and systematic receiving, processing, put-away, picking, and shipping.
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve daily objectives.
  • Manage the picking, packing, and movement of merchandise.
  • Maintain the integrity of the facility concerning inbound, outbound, and inventory through regular monitoring.
  • Track daily facility inventory costs and SKU velocity.
  • Manage the cycle count program, tracking productivity weekly and monthly.
  • Analyze the lost & found report to identify shrinkage and react to variances.
  • Ensure compliance with customs bonded warehouse requirements and accurate documentation such as 7512/6043 forms.
  • Maintain an organized archive of all documents.
  • Respond promptly to equipment maintenance requests to prevent productivity loss.
  • Identify and resolve safety, equipment, and communication issues to meet deadlines.
  • Coordinate and deliver employee training on health and safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, departmental procedures, and union agreements.
  • Apply progressive discipline and coaching techniques in accordance with union contracts.
  • Attend daily production meetings and present reports.
  • Prepare and present reports to management and lead department updates in facility-wide meetings.
  • Promote a high level of safety, quality, and morale within the department.
  • Perform opening, closing, and securing of the facility as needed.
  • Provide training and guidance to foster employee growth and development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in a bonded warehouse environment.
  • Experience with WMS systems and RF devices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills in English, with proficiency in Spanish preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience with WMS systems and RF hardware/software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to train personnel, review work, and enforce policies.
  • Effective planning skills.
  • Ability to handle employee grievances per union contracts.
  • Maintain equipment, ensure cleanliness, and eliminate safety hazards.

Other: Position requires flexibility in hours, availability during core hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday–Friday), and occasional evening/weekend work. Must be able to work at least 30 hours per week to maintain full-time status.

Physical Demands: Office environment with frequent sitting, walking, standing, occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and balancing. Use of office machinery, occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. Good eye, hand, and finger coordination for communication devices.
