Job summary

Justrite Safety Group in Colorado is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to lead the shipping and receiving teams, ensure accurate inventory control, and coordinate with production and logistics partners. This role reports to the Warehouse Manager within the Operations team.

You will supervise 10+ associates, drive lean improvements, manage cycle counts, and ensure on-time shipping while maintaining safety and quality standards in a dynamic warehouse environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years of supervisory experience in shipping and warehousing.
  • High school education or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of warehousing methods, inventory procedures and safety practices.
  • Proficient with computer systems and ERP tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise warehouse and packaging personnel and coordinate with related teams.
  • Oversee receiving, storage, order picking, packing and shipping activities.
  • Lead cycle counts, reconcile inventory, and resolve shipping issues.
  • Ensure on-time shipments, accuracy of documentation and compliance with safety policies.
  • Collaborate with Team Leaders and Production Scheduler to prioritize workload.

The Contribution You'll bring to this Role:

The Warehouse Supervisor will manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of finished goods and raw materials. This Area Supervisor has a high degree of interaction with all Area Supervisors, Warehouse Manager, Shipping Coordinators, Inventory Control Specialist, Team Leaders, Purchasing Department, Production Scheduler, Quality Department and Outside Material Handling and Transportation Representatives. Directly supervises all warehouse and packaging personnel.

What You'll Do at Justrite:
  • Actively pursues continuous improvement using lean methodology that impact performance of the shipping and receiving department
  • Supervises and coordinates the activities of the Shipping & Receiving Clerks, Small Package and Packaging Associates, and the storage and preservation of all products to achieve departmental quality, quantity, service, cost and safety goals.
  • Supervises the packaging of products, order picking, warehousing, and ensures alignment with the production teams
  • Participates and helps lead physical inventory each period as determined by finance
  • Works with Team Leaders to assign each area their daily tasks and prioritize workflow.
  • Resolves work problems and recommends measures to improve productivity by planning, leading, organizing & controlling.
  • Reviews Open Order Report and utilizes ERP to ship on time and maintain high OTD/OTTR
  • Ensures that all Sales Orders have been accurately picked, packed and labeled, in accordance with company procedures and customer specific requirements.
  • Reviews and checks shipments, packing lists, and bills of lading for accuracy
  • Communicates with Chicago office for prioritizing product shipment to them and all other intra-company shipments
  • Ensures lift truck inspections are performed and documented.
  • Assists Shipping & Receiving Clerks and operates forklift when necessary.
  • Recommends personnel actions related to selection, scheduling and training of employees and temporary labor in the performance of their job in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintains good employee relations and adherence to company policies, safety standards, and takes proper disciplinary measures when required.
  • Prepares and maintains employee records such as time management, vacation requests, performance evaluations, and schedules overtime work as needed.
  • Initiates and maintains accurate records and reports (i.e., daily reports, purchase orders, work orders, injury reports, and special projects).
  • Observes all safety, environmental and quality control procedures, and good housekeeping practices.
  • Supports Inventory control.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as required by management.
  • Oversees inventory control and ensure cycle counts and inventory adjustments are made accurately and timely while following company policy
  • Assists in cycle count and root cause analysis as needed to implement corrective and mitigating actions
  • Addresses root cause of mis-shipments, mis-picks, and other transactional errors in shipping, receiving, and warehousing
Your Skills and Expertise:

To ensure your success from day one in this role, Justrite requires the following qualifications at a minimum:

  • High school education or equivalent, associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience in shipping and warehousing to include direct supervision of at least ten (10) associates.
  • Must be knowledgeable of accepted warehousing methods and procedures in handling, storing, loading/unloading material and inventory methods and procedures.
  • Computer proficient.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, other departments, truck drivers, and trucking firm representatives.
  • Highly motivated, well-organized, good problem-solving skills, effective as a team builder and able to coordinate multi and changing priorities.
  • Satisfactorily pass in-company forklift driver training program
  • This job is performed with the use of a computer, forklift, Bendi forklift, scissor lift, scanner, copier, printer, and calculator.
