Job summary

Akima Global Logistics (AGL), a company supporting federal projects, is seeking a Warehouse Specialist for an on-site role. You will receive, unpack, arrange, store, pick, pack, stage, and load materials for dispatch while adhering to the storage plan and SOPs, and ensuring proper labeling and documentation.

You will also inspect shipments, perform cycle counts, maintain accurate inventory records, and operate material-handling equipment.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • High School Diploma or GED certificate equivalent preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain DoD CAC.
  • Minimum 2 years of warehouse, supply, logistics, or material-handling experience.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, move, and position material as required.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate material-handling equipment.
  • Ability to accurately maintain inventory and shipping/receiving records.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn automated logistics systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, stores, issues, inventories, and ships materials, equipment, parts, and supplies.
  • Follows warehouse procedures, safety requirements, and government regulations.
  • Receives shipments and verifies quantities, part numbers, condition, and documentation.
  • Inspects material for damage or discrepancies.
  • Labels, stores, and routes material to designated locations.
  • Picks, packs, stages, and prepares material for issue or shipment.
  • Maintains accurate inventory records and performs cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other equipment as required.
  • Loads and unloads trucks, trailers, containers, and other assets.
  • Prepares and maintains warehouse documentation and shipping paperwork.
  • Tracks material movement from receipt through storage, issue, shipment, or disposition.
  • Coordinates with customers, supply personnel, transportation, and supervisors on material needs and discrepancies.
  • Identifies shortages, overages, damaged material, and initiates corrective action.
  • Keeps warehouse areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Ensures material handling complies with requirements.
  • May assist in training junior warehouse personnel.

Performs a variety of warehousing duties that requires an understanding of the Military establishments Storage plan to include receive, unpack, arrange, store goods/merchandise, gather, pack, prepare and load goods for dispatching. Check supplies for damage and wear, reports faults and discrepancies to relevant parties and mark and label stock according to SOP's.

Responsibilities
  • The Warehouse Specialist performs clerical and physical tasks associated with receiving, storing, issuing, inventorying, and shipping materials, equipment, parts, and supplies.
  • In performing day-to-day routine tasks, this worker follows established warehouse procedures, safety requirements, and government regulations.
  • Receives incoming shipments and verifies quantities, part numbers, condition, and documentation against shipping documents, purchase orders, manifests, or other records.
  • Inspects material for damage, discrepancies, improper identification, or other irregularities.
  • Properly identifies, labels, stores, and routes material to designated locations.
  • Picks, packs, stages, and prepares material for issue or shipment.
  • Maintains accurate inventory records and performs cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Operates material-handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other authorized equipment as required.
  • Loads and unloads trucks, trailers, containers, and other transportation assets.
  • Prepares and maintains warehouse documentation, inventory records, issue documents, receiving reports, and shipping paperwork.
  • Tracks material movement from receipt through storage, issue, shipment, or disposition.
  • Coordinates with customers, supply personnel, transportation personnel, and supervisors regarding material requirements and discrepancies.
  • Identifies shortages, overages, damaged material, and inventory discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action.
  • Maintains warehouse areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Ensures material is stored in accordance with applicable handling, preservation, security, and environmental requirements.
  • May assist in training and directing junior warehouse personnel.
