Job summary

Akima Global Logistics (AGL), an Akima company, is seeking a Warehouse Specialist to perform receiving, storage, and distribution duties for Army equipment turn-ins. You will verify documents, assist with inspections, and coordinate staging and movement within the warehouse while ensuring compliance with DA PAMs and ISO standards.

The role requires strong organizational skills, experience in warehouse operations, and the ability to use Army logistics systems.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Associate degree in logistics or supply preferred.
• Experience: 2–4 years of warehouse, supply, or logistics experience (Army or contractor preferred).
• Familiarity with Army turn-in and supply procedures desirable.
• Army logistics systems (GCSS-Army, LMP, DPAS).
• Material handling and warehouse safety practices.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read/process Army documentation (DA and DD forms).
• Forklift/MHE operation certification preferred.
• Strong organizational, recordkeeping, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in high-tempo, large-volume turn-in environments.
• Proficiency in English (reading/writing).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Must have a valid driver’s license with insurance.

Responsibilities

• Receive and verify equipment and materiel turned in from Army units.
• Check turn-in documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Assist in inspection and condition coding of items before storage or disposition.
• Coordinate staging and movement of items into designated warehouse areas.
• Store, organize, and maintain items in warehouse locations.
• Perform location surveys, bin checks, and cyclic inventories.
• Maintain segregation of serviceable, unserviceable, HAZMAT, and sensitive items.
• Support preparation for PARs and audits.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other MHE.
• Ensure safe handling of hazardous materials and compliance with regulations.
• Assist in packaging, labeling, and preparing equipment for shipment or redistribution.
• Input and update property transactions in Army logistics systems (GCSS-Army, DPAS, LMP).
• Maintain warehouse logs, inventory control sheets, and daily activity records.
• Support audit readiness through accurate recordkeeping (ISO 9001:2015).
• Provide assistance to unit supply personnel delivering equipment to the site.
• Resolve discrepancies in documentation and coordinate corrections with supervisors.
• Support coordination with transportation personnel for outbound shipments.
• Employees may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
• Must be able to travel within the United States up to 25%.

Job description

The Warehouse Specialistis responsible forperforming receiving, storage, accountability, and distribution functions in support of Army equipment turn-in operations. This role ensures all equipment and materiel are properly documented, staged, stored, and safeguardedin accordance withArmy supply regulations, technical manuals, OSHA standards, and contract requirements. The Warehouse Specialist supports supply technicians, material coordinators, and supervisors tomaintainaccurateinventory and ensure efficient processing of large-scale equipment turn-ins.

• Must be able to travel within the United States asrequired. This position may require up to 25% travel.

Physical Demands & Working Environment

• Must be able tolift upto 50 lbs. and perform routine standing, walking, bending, and reaching tasks in warehouse and field environments.
• Must also meet all physical requirements necessary to perform assigned duties, including working in extreme heat or cold, high, or low humidity, blowing sand and dust, confined spaces, heights, and other inclement weather conditions.
• This position involves working both indoors and outdoors, periodic overtime, and exposure to heat, dust, cold, and adverse weather conditions.
