Job summary

Kalman & Company is seeking Warehouse Specialists to support a government program in Crane, IN. You will handle material from receipt to issue, operate forklifts, and maintain orderly storage areas to meet tight timelines.

Ideal candidates have warehouse experience, active security clearance eligibility, and forklift certification. Work is primarily in a climate-controlled, DoD warehouse setting with strict safety and inventory controls.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of warehouse, supply, or material handling experience.
• Current forklift operator certification (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178) at time of hire.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in warehouse conditions.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, label, and store material; verify part numbers, quantities, and condition against system records.
• Pull and issue material within strict timelines, including priority requests that must be filled within hours.
• Perform re-warehousing, shelf-life management, care of supplies in storage, and preservation, packaging, and marking.
• Operate forklifts (up to 36,000 lb capacity), pallet jacks, and other MHE; load and secure material for transport.
• Support physical inventory counts, location surveys, and kitting.
• Keep storage areas clean, safe, and orderly; assemble racks, bins, and shelving.

Kalman & Company is seeking to hire several Warehouse Specialists. these positions will support a government program in Crane, IN. These positions are tied to a government proposal. The projected award date is in early 2027.

Warehouse Specialists keep material moving safely and accurately, from receipt to storage to issue. You will operate forklifts and material handling equipment, maintain organized and safe storage areas, and support time-critical requests for Fleet customers.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:

• Receive, inspect, label, and store material; verify part numbers, quantities, and condition against system records.
• Pull and issue material within strict timelines, including priority requests that must be filled within hours.
• Perform re-warehousing, shelf-life management, care of supplies in storage, and preservation, packaging, and marking, including crate and pallet construction.
• Operate forklifts (up to 36,000 lb capacity), pallet jacks, and other MHE; load and secure material for transport.
• Support physical inventory counts, location surveys, and kitting.
• Keep storage areas clean, safe, and orderly; assemble racks, bins, and shelving.

Basic Qualifications:

• U.S. citizenship (required for all positions on this program)
• Active Secret security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain one; must be eligible for a Tier 3 background investigation before system access
• 1+ year of warehouse, supply, or material handling experience
• Current forklift operator certification (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178) at time of hire
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in warehouse conditions

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with Navy ERP, SAP, or another warehouse management system
• Military packaging (MIL-STD-2073/129) or HAZMAT handling experience
• Experience at NSWC Crane or another DoD warehouse
• Work is performed primarily in a climate-controlled environment.
