Job summary

Nebraska Furniture Mart, Inc. is hiring for a repair shop helper in Kansas City. You will inspect repaired furniture, wrap items for delivery, assist with inventory, and support the repair shop operations.

The role requires basic warehouse experience, reliability, and the ability to lift and move materials. Weekend and early shifts may be required, with a comprehensive benefits package and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older as a minimum requirement.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 6 months of warehouse or labor experience.
• Positive, upbeat attitude and reliable work ethic.
• Ability to lift/push/pull required weights.
• Able to work night, weekend and/or early morning hours as needed.
• Pre-employment screening may include a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Inspect repaired furniture for quality control and wrap products for delivery.
• Assist inventory team by picking merchandise and cycling products in repair shop.
• Load on flats, remove back panels and install mirrors as part of duties.
• Maintain orderly repair shop, organize lumber racks and keep standards.
• Ensure hazardous chemicals are labeled and stored per standards.

Pay Range: $18.30 - 22.77 hourly

Schedule: Monday through Friday 7am-3:30pm

Job Duties: A Day in the Life

• Inspect Repaired Furniture for quality control, Wrap product and load on flats
• Repair: remove back panels and install mirrors
• Assist: Work with the inventory team to pick merchandise for delivery, cycle products in the repair shop and order supplies/product parts as needed
• Maintain: Organize lumber rack and keep the repair shop up to NFM housekeeping standards
• Safety: Keep all hazardous chemicals properly labeled and stored according to government standards
