Job summary

GEODIS is seeking a Warehouse Shipping/Receiving Clerk in Houston, TX. You will handle customer communications, prepare shipping paperwork, and maintain accurate inventory records. A high school diploma or GED and 6 months to 1 year of related experience are required, with emphasis on accuracy and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalency.
• Minimum 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with customers by phone, email, or in person and receives orders or changes in service.
• Generates all related paperwork and necessary information required for customer work orders, checks all orders for special requests, and posts inventory records.
• Traces orders as required and notifies customers of any activity concerning their merchandise, including shipping and tracing information.
• Works with management regarding product routing for customers
• Ships individual product orders using a semi-automatic shipping machine
• Wraps, ties, or places material in envelopes, boxes, or other containers
• Stamps, types, or writes addresses on packaged materials
• Forwards packages by mail, messenger, or through message center
• Keeps records of sent materials, requisitions and stores materials to maintain stock
