Job summary

Johns Manville in Scottsboro, AL is seeking a forklift operator to unload and load materials, ship/receive paperwork, and assist with inventory counts on the 3rd shift (10p-6a), Sunday-Thursday.

You will operate a forklift, follow safety procedures, and collaborate with team to ensure smooth roofing package shipments. Basic computer skills and ability to work outdoors in heat/cold are required; prior safety training and HazMat handling are a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be able to tolerate heat/cold and outdoor conditions, good vision, hearing, speaking, and finger dexterity skills are required, as well as the ability to operate heavy equipment.
• The ability to set up and follow simple work plans and communicate with co-workers is essential.
• Basic computer skills are necessary.
• Employee must pass forklift and all plant related safety program tests including Handling of Hazmat Products.
• Incumbent must be physically able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Unloads all incoming materials essential for total roofing package
• Helps coordinate other activities associated with service quality
• Unload incoming and load outbound trucks
• Complete shipping and receiving paperwork relating to materials as required
• Participate in physical inventory counts
• Loads and unloads all materials essential for shipping out roof package
• Verify orders prior to loading
• Pick and organize all items required for shipping orders
• Remove pallets of goods from inventory racking system
• Operate forklift to move materials as required
• Must be willing to assist others when needs arise
• Inspects mobile equipment and completes the appropriate checklist(s)
• Follows JSA's, uses safe work practices, and always reports hazardous conditions
• Wear protective clothing & equipment as required
• Follow all Johns Manville safety procedures and policies

Compensation

The base hourly rate for this position is $23.08. 3rd Shift, 10p-6a, Sunday-Thursday $2.00 shift differential.
