Johns Manville is seeking an on-site Forklift Operator at our Jacksonville, FL plant. You will operate a forklift, maintain safe work practices, and support a cohesive team to produce high-quality insulation panels and related products.
Responsibilities include completing production reporting, maintaining housekeeping, and adhering to all safety procedures. Candidates should have forklift experience, a valid license, and strong math and communication skills.

The base hourly rate for this position is $23.87. Our Johns Manville plant in Jacksonville, FL manufactures polyisocyanurate foam insulation panels for use in roofing systems. We produce foam panels as well as specialty items such as tapered, vented, composite, nail board and sheathing products. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 2:00pm - 10:00pm, with Saturdays as needed.
Use safe work practices including the use of eye, ear, respiratory and foot protection equipment as needed. Shows initiative in supporting plant-wide safety by following all safety procedures and policies and reporting hazardous conditions. Maintain housekeeping standards, always keeping equipment and work areas clean and orderly. Operate a forklift. Work as part of team; relieving and supporting other team members as needed. Maintain communication to support a cohesive team and ensure quality product is being made. Complete production reporting. Ensure department's continuous compliance with all policies, procedures, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Forklift experience, certification preferred. Valid driver’s license General math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages) Must be able to accurately read a tape measure, work instruction, finished product specifications. Beginner to intermediate computer skills (Microsoft office). Solid Communication Skills (written/verbal). Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
The ability to stand for extended periods The ability to manually lift, push or pull at least 50 pounds safely and with proper body mechanics, sometimes while in awkward positions. Use of hands (repetitive motion, grabbing, feeling, sensing, pulling) The ability to work safely in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful work environment The ability to safely and effectively work in an often-dusty work environment that experiences a broad range of temperatures (very hot to very cold). The ability to bend, stoop or kneel repetitively. The ability to reach or work above the shoulder.
