Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie Company Inc. is seeking a Shipper/Receiver at our Billings, MT location. You will handle shipments, receipts, and stocking to fulfill customer orders in a fast-paced warehouse.

You’ll operate ERP and handheld tablet devices to prepare pallets, labels, and bills of lading, while following safety and quality guidelines. A valid forklift certification and HazMat training are required or will be provided on hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Powered Industrial Truck Certification required (will certify at hire).
• D.O.T. HazMat Training required (will certify at hire).
• 1 year of warehouse, logistics, and/or shipping experience required.
• Equipment: Operate forklift, reach truck, order picker, and electric pallet jack.
• Safety: Ability to prioritize safety by demonstrating safe work practices and promoting a safe work environment.
• Mathematical Reasoning: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
• Ability to Work Independently: Follow both written and oral instructions, including safety guidelines, work instructions, and company policies.
• Attendance: Able to consistently demonstrate reliable, punctual attendance in accordance with our attendance policy.
• Communication Skills: Speak in the most effective way to relay information to all departments and at all levels within the organization. Listen and ask questions to ensure understanding.
• Quality Standards Knowledge: Demonstrate an understanding of company quality standards and company quality control processes.
• Problem Solving: Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists

Responsibilities

• Complete shipments using ERP system and/or tablet; pull, package, and palletize products for shipment.
• Create shipping documents such as packing lists and bills of lading for each pallet/shipment.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
