Job description

Facilities Sanitation Team Member

As a Facilities Sanitation Team Member, you will help keep the entire operation running smoothly. Working alongside the Operations Teams, this role provides excellent service to each department by responding quickly and efficiently to calls regarding spills, breaks, or other accidents, as well as maintaining the general upkeep and safety of the facility.

What will I do?

• Maintain the facility in pristine condition, communicate potential dangers to management, and answer questions as needed.
• Respond promptly to maintenance calls, attending to spills, breaks, or accidents, and perform various maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and unclogging drains.
• Prioritize and complete all assigned tasks independently, including keeping the warehouse floor clear of debris, cleaning and restocking restrooms, sweeping floors, emptying trash, cleaning windows, and other duties.
• Operate ride-on and walk-behind floor scrubbers safely and perform basic preventative maintenance on cleaning equipment.
• Operate cardboard and plastic balers and compactors, load pallets, and manage recyclables.
• Maintain an organized, well-stocked supply room and maintenance stations to ensure quick response to maintenance needs.
• Use equipment properly, handle products safely, keep accurate logs, and follow sanitation practices in accordance with food and human safety guidelines, Simplification 5S procedures, and Wegmans policies, as well as federal and state laws.
