Job summary

Performance Foodservice in Morristown, TN, is seeking a sanitation/waste maintenance associate for our warehouse operations. The role runs Monday–Friday, 7am–3:30pm, ensuring a clean and safe work environment across dry, cooler, and freezer areas.

You will follow health and safety policies, handle cleaning chemicals per hazmat guidelines, and complete safety trainings. Prior cleaning/janitorial experience is preferred; a drug test and background check are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6+ months sanitation, cleaning or janitorial experience.
• Able to work in cooler (32°F) and freezer (0°F) sections.
• Must pass post-offer drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Completes work according to health and safety policies.
• Reports unsafe conditions immediately.
• Performs cleaning duties such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, trash pickup.
• Handles cleaning chemicals as directed by hazmat sheets.
• Completes required safety training modules.

Position Purpose:

We value the safety and health of our associates! The Sanitation, Warehouse ensures the health and safety of all our associates by always maintaining a clean and safe workplace.

The Sanitation, Warehouse performs general janitorial, cleaning, and sanitation related job tasks in warehouse facility, including dry, cooler and freezer areas. May perform similar duties in office areas as assigned.

Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

• Completes all work according to company health and safety policies and guidelines.
• Reports all unsafe conditions or unsafe acts immediately to ensure safety of all associates.
• Performs cleaning duties as assigned including but not limited to dusting, sweeping, mopping, trash pickup and related janitorial tasks.
• Handles all cleaning chemicals as directed in hazmat material sheets.
• Timely and accurate completion of all assigned Pure Safety training modules.
• May require operation of pallet jack to transport refuse/trash to appropriate receptacles.
• Completes all assignments and timely and accurately.
• May be required to work with cleaning chemicals.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Must be able to work in the cooler (32 degrees) and freezer (0 degrees) sections of our warehouse.
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check

Preferred qualifications

• 1+ years general sanitation, cleaning and/or janitorial work experience in warehouse environment
• Pallet jack experience
• Food Distribution sanitation experience preferred.
