Staff Management | SMX in Jackson, TN is hiring for Sanitation Associates to support our client's essential daily operations by maintaining clean and safe production floors, equipment, drains, and overhead areas in a food manufacturing facility.

Compensation includes weekly pay, medical/dental benefits, and a referral bonus. Shifts listed as 1st shift with possible temp-to-hire opportunities; pay rate is $19.75 per hour, with comprehensive benefits and advancement opportunities available.

Responsibilities

• Complete the cleaning tasks on your daily sheet.
• Sweep, scrub, and rinse production floors and around equipment.
• Operate floor scrubbers and cleaning equipment after training.
• Clean elevated surfaces, pipes, ducts, and light fixtures using ladders or lifts.
• Maintain and sanitize drains, trenches, and grates.
• Handle spills and waste; sort and remove trash and debris.
• Receive and sort shipments; tag for delivery within the plant.
• Distribute, label, and safely store cleaning chemicals; follow GMPs.

Pay Rate: $19.75 / hour

Duties:

• Complete the cleaning tasks assigned on your daily task sheet
• Sweep, scrape, scrub and rinse production floors, floor-wall corners, and the areas under and around equipment
• Operate floor scrubbers and other cleaning equipment after training
• Clean elevated surfaces such as pipes, ducts, light fixtures and the tops of equipment, using extension tools and ladders or lifts as trained (must not be afraid of heights)
• Clean, sanitize and maintain floor drains, trench drains and grates
• Clean up product and ingredient spills using the correct method
• Remove trash, cardboard, pallet debris and stretch wrap, and keep waste and recycling areas tidy
• Receive and sort shipments, and tag them for delivery to areas within the plant
• Mix, dispense, label and deliver approved cleaning chemicals, and store them safely
• Operate a forklift (for Chemical Handler role)
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety and allergen-control rules at all times
• Wear the required protective equipment, including slip-resistant footwear, safety glasses, gloves and hearing protection
• Follow lockout/tagout and chemical safety rules, and watch for forklift traffic
• Keep tools and equipment clean, color-coded and stored in the right place
• Fill out cleaning checklists and logs accurately
• Report spills, pests, damaged equipment and safety hazards to a supervisor right away
