Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Chambersburg, PA is seeking a Warehouse Safety & Training Manager to lead safety programs and PIT training for our supply chain operations. This role emphasizes OSHA compliance, staff coaching, and process improvements.

You will oversee on-the-job training, update and create materials, conduct reviews, and coordinate with site leadership to maintain safe, efficient operations. A strong background in warehouse safety and leadership is required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain preferred.
• 3+ years in supply chain, logistics, warehouse, or related field.
• 1+ year in Training/Leadership background preferred.
• Experience driving PIT equipment desirable.

Responsibilities

• Administer on-the-job and PIT training for new and existing staff.
• Update and maintain training documents; create new ones for various departments.
• Coordinate staffing, scheduling and supervisor activities to meet goals.
• Conduct employee orientation and performance reviews.
• Collaborate with Safety Manager to ensure OSHA and forklift training is current.

Essential Functions

• Contribute to meeting site productivity and quality goals by administering on the job training and power industrial truck (PIT) training to all new and existing employees including cross training as needed.
• Update and maintain various existing training documents and help create new training documents for various departments and job functions.
• Complete Human Resource paperwork and other administrative tasks as assigned.
• Coordinate department activities and special projects to ensure quality and meet timetables.
• Coordinate with Group Manager Logistics for appropriate staffing levels.
• Direct staff in the development, analysis and performance of job task.
• Supervise staff in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Assist staff to resolve complex or out of policy operation problems.
• Conduct interviews, hire new staff and provide employee orientation.
• Coach and provide career development advice to staff.
• Responsible for staff scheduling to include work assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignments, back-up for absent employees.
• Perform standard work audits with new and existing employees to ensure adherence to process.
• Responsible to coordinate safety activities for the site by working with Safety Manager to ensure safety training is current including OSHA and forklift training.
• Evaluate department processes.
• Recommend and coordinate needed changes based on process analysis.
• Establish employee goals and conduct employee performance reviews.
• Communicate with other Supervisors and Managers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Compensation Information

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type.
