Job summary

CarParts.com is seeking a Warehouse Safety Coordinator to lead safety initiatives at the Las Vegas distribution center, developing and implementing environmental, health, and safety policies.

You will partner with DC leadership to drive risk mitigation, conduct inspections, oversee PIT training, and manage incident investigations, ensuring regulatory compliance and a proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

• Prior Environmental, Health and Safety experience in distribution center environments.

Responsibilities

• Promotes safety awareness and safety culture within the distribution center, collaborating with DC management and staff.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality of safety information and responsibilities.
• Complete safety projects independently and in a team environment.
• Conduct safety training sessions for associates and contractors (new hire, refresher, PIT).
• Inspect working conditions for health and safety compliance across areas and activities.
• Prepare ad hoc safety reports detailing inspections and activities.
• Coordinate accident investigations, safety reviews, and safety committee meetings as needed.
• Suggest revisions to processes to meet safety expectations; address health and safety issues and incidents.
• Collaborate with DC leadership to monitor compliance and address health and safety issues.
• Monitor daily warehouse software reports (i-warehouse) and PIT training records for accuracy.
• Keep areas safe, clean, and organized per OSHA and warehousing best practices.
• Conduct health and safety audits on operational compliance with safety policies.
• Participate in post-injury and incident investigations and evaluations.

Job Summary

TheDCSafetyCoordinator/Team Lead position is responsible for driving and ensuringsafetyawarenessof the distribution center on all shifts. In thisstrategicsafetysupportrole,you willcloselysupportdistribution center leadership and thecompanySafetyDirectorindeveloping and implementingenvironmental,health,andsafety(EHS)policies,procedures, training, inspections, and audits.The safety coordinator will ensure DC safety and security measures are followed, as well as monitor, support,andissueassociateand contractoraccessbadges.Assistwithenvironmental,health and safety(EHS)inspections of thedistributioncenter.Driveconsistencywithsafetyincidentinvestigations, fact-finding, data collection and root cause analysis, and corrective actions.You will drive pro-active safety cultureengagementthrough risk mitigation andaddressingunsafe behaviors andhazards in the workplace.

KeyResponsibilities

• Promotesafety awareness and cultivatedistribution centersafety culture.Works cooperatively and harmoniously withdistribution center management,supervisors, leads, co-workers, andsupport departments.
• Understand and ensureregulatorycompliance with all state and federal regulatory laws andregulations.
• Maintain confidentiality of all aspects of job responsibilities.
• Completesassigned safetyprojects and tasksindependently and work well within a team environment.
• Conduct safety training(new hire, refresher, job specific, powered industrial truck)sessions forassociatesand contractors.
• Inspects working conditions to ensure allareasand activities are compliant withhealth andsafety guidelines.
• Preparesad hocsafetyreports detailing inspection process and other activities.
• Coordinatesaccidentinvestigations, safetyreview meetings and safetycommitteemeetings as needed.

• Ensure allpowered industrial truck (PIT) safetytrainingrecords are current and performweeklychecks for accuracy.
• Keep work areassafe, organized, and clean according to general warehousing/office practices and OSHA requirements daily.
• Conducthealth andsafety audits on operational compliancewithsafety policies and procedures.
• Participate inpost-injury and incident investigations and evaluations.
• Inspects liftsafety equipment such asfire exits, emergency lights, fire suppression systems, fire Extinguishers,first Aid Kits,emergencyeyewashes, and other safety equipment.
• Coordinatessafetytraining forassociates withPowered Industrial Trucks(PIT), classroom, and floorpracticalcertifications.
• Performs security functions, such as monitor associates when entering the building, issue badges and other security functions as needed.
• Lead and drive participation on theDCsafety committee on all shifts.
• Other duties as deemed necessary.

Experience: Prior safety and warehouse experience required

Machines, Tools, Equipment (Office and Industrial), Software: Warehouse management system terminal, calculator, fax machine, copier, and telephone. Microsoft office with intermediate Excel focus.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 10Houror30HourCertifications.
• Bachelors / associate degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired .
