Job summary

Palmer Food Services in Rochester, NY is hiring a Warehouse Receiving Runner to support receiving, put-away, and storage operations. The role requires lifting up to 100 lbs, operating pallet jacks and forklifts, and maintaining accurate records in a fast-paced environment.

The position offers full-time hours, Monday–Friday shifts 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, with competitive hourly pay and benefits including health coverage and retirement options. Prior warehouse experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds with proper technique.
• Comfortable with machinery reaching heights of 25 ft.
• Ability to work in freezer and coolers.
• Familiarity with warehouse software programs.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate reliability and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
• Breakdown skids to help stockers identify product and disperse it.
• Complete assigned maintenance areas daily.
• Assist receiver by transporting products to storage locations.
• Ensure accurate put-away and storage of received goods.
• Handle products with care to prevent damage.
• Operate pallet jacks and forklifts as needed.
• Maintain organized storage areas for efficiency.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Communicate with receivers and warehouse staff to ensure timely put-away.
• Report discrepancies or damages to supervisor.

Salary Range: $17.00 To $19.00 Annually

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Breakdown skids as necessary, to ensure that the stockers can clearly identify product and disperse it efficiently.
• Complete assigned maintenance areas daily.

• Assist the receiver by transporting accepted products to designated storage locations.
• Ensure accurate placement of received goods in accordance with warehouse organization and storage procedures.
• Handle products with care to prevent damage or contamination.
• Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts, as needed.
• Maintain clear and organized storage areas to optimize efficiency and accessibility.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines when handling perishable and non-perishable items.
• Communicate with receivers and warehouse staff to ensure timely and accurate put-away of inventory.
• Assist in keeping the receiving dock clear and organized by promptly moving accepted shipments.
• Report any discrepancies, damages, or issues with received products to the receiver or supervisor.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/ GED
• Basic reading, writing and math skills.
• Computer knowledge with ability to adapt to warehouse software programs.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds. Proper lifting procedures must be followed.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Comfortable with machinery reaching heights of 25 ft
• Ability to perform duties in freezer and coolers.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 Years Warehouse Experience

$17.00- $19.00/ Hour

Shift:

Monday through Friday 6:00 AM- 2:30 PM
