Job summary

ShopRite of Spotswood in Spotswood, NJ is seeking a Receiver (SRS NJ) to ensure accurate receiving of deliveries, maintaining a neat warehouse, and delivering a great customer experience. You will verify invoices, handle damaged items, and protect company assets while working in a fast-paced grocery environment.

The role requires English literacy, basic math, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and the stamina to stand for long shifts.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and understand English at a functional level.
• Ability to perform basic math operations.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a shift.
• Ability to lift 25–50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and maintain attendance.
• Ability to adhere to shift schedules and attendance policies.
• Must be 18 years or older to operate certain equipment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor grocery storage area for cleanliness and readiness for the next shift.
• Handle damaged or returns to stock items per company policy, with emphasis on refrigerated items.
• Verify invoices for cost, retail, and quantity accuracy.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Observe safety procedures when operating equipment and handling products.
• Rotate and stock products according to QA standards and shelf life.
• Unload trucks and transport merchandise safely.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment.
