Job summary

Palmer Food Services is hiring a Warehouse Produce Receiver in Rochester, NY. The role handles receiving produce, ensures quality and expiration checks, and coordinates with stockers to organize distribution.

The position requires PIT certification, ability to lift up to 100 lbs, and comfort working in cold environments. The shift is Monday–Friday starting early morning, with full-time benefits including health insurance, PTO, and 401(k) matching.

Responsibilities

• Receive Produce and check in with quality control (expiration dates, temperature, box integrity).
• Breakdown skids to aid stockers in identification and dispersion of product.
• Complete assigned maintenance areas and housekeeping tasks.
• Communicate PO changes, shortages, overages, and quality issues to purchasing.
• Be a reliable team member, learn new skills, and cover duties as needed.
• Handle receiving functions in the supervisor's absence (lumping money, scheduling, filing).

Role and Responsibilities:

• Work safely at all times, using proper PPE and lifting procedures to lift items up to 100
• Accurately check-in product with respect to quality control (expiration dates, temperature requirements, box integrity) and accuracy.
• Breakdown skids as necessary of produce, to ensure that the stockers can clearly identify product and disperse it
• Complete assigned maintenance areas

• Cross-trained in all Warehouse operations and perform these duties as assigned by the Warehouse
• In the absence of the Warehouse Supervisor, handle all receiving functions, such as but not limited to lumping money, scheduling, proper filing, etc.
• Communicate any changes made to all purchase orders with This includes loads received early or late, all shortages, overages, and quality issues.
• Be a reliable and cooperative team player, fill in as necessary and engage fully in the working environment. Demonstrate willingness to learn new skills for professional advancement and growth of the company.

• Computer knowledge with ability to adapt to warehouse software

Salary Range:

• $17.00- $19.00/ hour

• Monday- Friday 6:00 AM- Finish (usually 2:30 PM)
