Job summary

C&S Wholesale Grocers, LLC is seeking a Porter for the Aberdeen, MD facility. The role involves cleaning the warehouse, offices and break areas, handling spills, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Night shift, full-time, with a total hourly wage combining base pay and freezer/shift differentials. The job requires physical duties such as lifting up to 60 lbs, operating cleaning equipment and moving products as needed.

Responsibilities

• Providing and maintaining a clean and safe work environment as custodian/janitor
• Cleaning the entire warehouse, offices, break areas, windows and restrooms
• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing and waxing floors
• Occasionally pulling product with electric pallet jack to clean with a scrubber
• Tending to spills including damaged product, oil, grease etc.
• Collecting wrap, shredded paper and boxes for proper disposal
• Following all material handling equipment safety procedures
• Occasional lifting of varying case weights and heights
• Willingness to follow all safety SOPs

Job description

Position Overview As a Porter, you will clean and maintain the administrative offices, warehouse and other assigned areas in order to satisfy company and governmental guidelines. You will clean and sanitize designated areas of a warehouse as well as tend to product spill clean-up. All of our employees are expected to make safety their top priority.

- Earn $17 per hour + $2/hr freezer differential+ $1/hr shift differential

- Full Time: Night shift

Job Description

You will contribute by:

• Providing and maintaining a clean and safe work environment by acting as a custodian / janitor
• Performing janitorial duties such as cleaning the entire warehouse, including office space, employee break areas, windows and restrooms
• Maintaining good housekeeping by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing and waxing floors
• Occasionally pulling product out of pick slots using an electric pallet jack to clean with a scrubber and returning product
• Tending to spills including damaged product, oil, grease, etc.
• Collecting plastic wrap, shredded paper, and empty boxes to be disposed of properly
• Following all material handling equipment safe operating procedures
• Occasional safe lifting of varying case weight, shape, and height levels
• Having the ability and willingness to follow all material handling equipment safe operating procedures

• Walking on various surfaces including concrete, tile, carpet, etc.
• Frequently lifting of product weighing between 1 - 60 lbs. or more

• Possibility of working on multiple levels of varying height
• Safe handling of sharp objects including box cutting tools
