Job summary

C&S Wholesale Grocers, LLC is seeking a full-time custodian/janitor for the Aberdeen, MD facility. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe warehouse environment, including offices and break areas, with routine floor care and shelving clearance.

The position offers a day shift, five days a week, and includes a $17 per hour base pay plus a $2 differential for the freezer environment. Ideal candidates will demonstrate reliability, ability to work standing for long periods, and adherence

• Attendance and high school diploma required.
• GED/High School Diploma required; safety and quality oriented.

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain a clean and safe work environment as custodian/janitor.
• Clean warehouse, including office space, break areas, windows and restrooms.
• Maintain housekeeping: sweep, mop, vacuum, buff and wax floors.
• Occasionally pull product with pallet jack to clean with scrubber and return product.
• Tend to spills including damaged product, oil, grease, etc.
• Collect plastic wrap, shredded paper, and empty boxes for disposal.
• Follow all material handling equipment safe operating procedures.
• Occasional safe lifting of varying case weight, shape, and height levels.

Job Description

You will contribute by:

• Providing and maintaining a clean and safe work environment by acting as a custodian / janitor
• Performing janitorial duties such as cleaning the entire warehouse, including office space, employee break areas, windows and restrooms
• Maintaining good housekeeping by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing and waxing floors
• Occasionally pulling product out of pick slots using an electric pallet jack to clean with a scrubber and returning product
• Tending to spills including damaged product, oil, grease, etc.
• Collecting plastic wrap, shredded paper, and empty boxes to be disposed of properly
• Following all material handling equipment safe operating procedures
• Occasional safe lifting of varying case weight, shape, and height levels
• Having the ability and willingness to follow all material handling equipment safe operating procedures

• Walking on various surfaces including concrete, tile, carpet, etc.
• Frequently lifting of product weighing between 1 - 60 lbs. or more

• Safe handling of sharp objects including box cutting tools
