Job summary

C&S Wholesale Grocers is hiring for a 2nd shift Custodian/Janitor at our Windsor Locks facility. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe environment across warehouse and office spaces. You will perform comprehensive cleaning tasks, manage spills, and handle routine housekeeping with a team-oriented approach.

Paid training, benefits from day 1, weekly pay, PTO and holiday pay are offered. The position is 2nd shift, from 6:30 PM to 5:00 AM, located at 500 North Street, Windsor Locks, CT

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain a clean and safe work environment by acting as a custodian/janitor
• Perform janitorial duties including cleaning the warehouse, offices, break areas, windows and restrooms
• Maintain housekeeping by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing and waxing floors
• Occasionally move product with electric pallet jack for cleaning and scrubbing as needed
• Attend to spills including damaged product, oil, grease, etc.
• Collect plastic wrap, shredded paper and empty boxes for proper disposal
• Follow all material handling equipment safe operating procedures
• Occasionally lift varying weights and heights as required
• Follow all safety procedures for safe handling of equipment and materials

Position Overview

These critical roles help to support our prideful work environment and the delivery of high quality product to our customers.

Earn $19.00 per hour

Shift - 2nd 6:30 PM - 5:00 AM

Location - 500 North Street, Windsor Locks, CT 06096

You will contribute by:

• Providing and maintaining a clean and safe work environment by acting as a custodian / janitor
• Performing janitorial duties such as cleaning the entire warehouse, including office space, employee break areas, windows and restrooms
• Maintaining good housekeeping by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing and waxing floors
• Occasionally pulling product out of pick slots using an electric pallet jack to clean with a scrubber and returning product
• Tending to spills including damaged product, oil, grease, etc.
• Collecting plastic wrap, shredded paper, and empty boxes to be disposed of properly
• Following all material handling equipment safe operating procedures
• Occasional safe lifting of varying case weight, shape, and height levels
• Having the ability and willingness to follow all material handling equipment safe operating procedures
