Job summary

TreeHouse Foods, a leading manufacturer of private label packaged foods and beverages, seeks a Warehouse Person at our Wayland, MI location. The role supports the Production team, operating a sit-down forklift and handling shipping/receiving records while ensuring accurate inventories to minimize production disruptions.

The position is full-time on 2nd shift (4pm–12am) with shift differential. Candidates must be able to read schedules, follow processes, and work overtime as needed, while

  • Follow instructions and process documents accurately.
  • Operate sit-down forklift safely and efficiently.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Support Production by helping improve plant performance.
  • Read production schedules and supply components to workstations.
  • Handle shipping/receiving records for trailers and rail cars.
  • Maintain accurate inventories to ensure smooth operations.
  • Communicate with customers, vendors, and freight companies by phone as needed.
  • Comply with GMPs, HACCP, LOTO, and TreeHouse Foods food safety programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

About the Role:

The Warehouse Person at the Wayland location provides support to the Production team, driving and supporting key initiatives to improve performance throughout the plant. You’ll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:

  • Be able to operate lift trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Must have valid lift truck driver’s license.
  • Must be able to read a production schedule and supply components and ingredients to the proper workstations without interruptions to production.
  • Must understand and be able to fill out all shipping and receiving records for trailers, tankers, rail cars and do accurate inventories. Accurate inventory performance is essential in maintaining this position.
  • Must be able to communicate by telephone with customers, vendors, freight companies, etc., when necessary.
  • Must be able to operate switcher truck in a safe & effective manner.
  • Must comply with the requirements defined within the contents of the GMP’S, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), LOTO procedures, and foods safety programs established by TreeHouse Foods.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Important Details:

This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday on 2nd shift.

2nd shift operates 4pm to 12am. Shift differential included for 2nd and 3rd shift.

About You:
  • Demonstrated experience following instructions/process documents and providing effective communication, both verbal and written.
  • Experience with operating a sit-down forklift.
  • The ability to work overtime and weekends.
  • All employees are responsible for the quality and food safety of all products produced in this facility.
