Job summary

Sysco is seeking a Warehouse Associate to hand-build pallets, read pick sheets, and load pallets onto trailers per company standards. You will operate forklifts and pallet jacks, inspect products for safety, and maintain a clean, safe warehouse environment.

This role emphasizes accurate product handling, adherence to food safety procedures, and teamwork with management to address issues and ensure timely shipments.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma/GED/equivalent degree.
• Experience: 6 months of previous warehouse experience preferred; or equivalent work experience.
• Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Forklift and pallet jack license/certification preferred.
• Professional Skills: Knowledge of safe lifting procedures, and food safety guidelines.
• Skill in building pallets of products quickly, accurately and safely.
• Ability to operate forklift and/or pallet jack and maneuver in tight areas.
• Meet the minimum productivity levels established by the company.
• Read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety regulations.
• Perform basic math functions (e.g. add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Solve problems and follow written/oral/diagram instructions.
• Wear personal protective equipment (e.g. safety shoes).

Responsibilities

• Reads pick sheets and travels to proper warehouse locations using a pallet jack.
• Picks proper product type and quantity, labels products, and loads pallets for trucks.
• Handles products and builds pallets following food safety procedures.
• Maintains a clean, safe warehouse and handles spills or damaged cases.
• Communicates with management regarding issues (out of stocks, safety concerns).
• Operates warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners) safely.
• Reports equipment issues to a manager.
• Completes paperwork and tracks time using a wearable computer.
• Works assigned schedule with attendance and overtime as needed.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
