Job summary

UNFI in Quincy, FL is hiring for an Order Selector in our warehouse. You will accurately pull customer orders, palletize items, operate Electric Pallet Jacks and Reach Lifts, and ensure correct locations and labeling. This role rewards teamwork, safety, and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Weekly pay at $20.25 per hour base plus incentives and premiums, with a Sunday start and steady schedule. Prior warehouse experience is helpful; training provided to learn WMS and RF systems.

Qualifications

• Warehouse/Operations experience preferred but not required.
• Understanding of WMS preferred but not required.
• Good judgment is required when supervision may not be immediately available.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment for safety issues and keep work area clean.
• Identify correct pick locations and sequence per order.
• Picks items and quantities, labels cases, and ensures accurate UPCs/descriptions.
• Identify Master Case locations and report mis-located products.
• Shrink wrap and label pallets; stage pallets in correct bay.
• Communicate any safety threats to a supervisor immediately.
• Build stable pallets and operate pallet jack safely; adhere to policy.

What does it mean to be a part of the Order Selection team?

In this fast-paced role, you are considered an industrial athlete. You are the boots on the ground and responsible for accurately and efficiently pulling customer orders within the warehouse. This role requires strategic thinking and attention to detail while palletizing orders and ensure they are placed in the correct assigned locations. You will operate motorized equipment to include Electric Pallet Jacks and Reach Lifts while ensuring that you safely and accurately move product within the warehouse. PAY: WEEKLY at $20.25 an hour base pay + Incentives & Premiums

SCHEDULE: Working Days: Sunday 7 AM-End of Shift; Monday-Friday 11 AM - End of Shift

Job Responsibilities

• Inspects assigned jack for safety issues.
• Identifies the correct pick location and pick sequence in accordance to the order.
• Picks the correct item and quantity, checking UPC’s or item descriptions. Places pick labels on the side of the cases.
• Correctly identifies Master Case locations. Identifies and immediately reports miss-located products.
• Shrink wraps and labels with correct truck, stop and other required information. Stages pallets in appropriate bay.
• Listens for first and last call and obtains all out of stocks in a timely manner.
• Immediately informs a foreman, supervisor or manager of any potential safety threats.
• Obtains aisle-cleaning assignment.
• Builds a stable and well cubed pallet. Operates pallet jack/pushcart in a safe and efficient manner. Reports to supervisor or lead any violation of company policy.
• Parks and recharges pallet jack in its appropriate spot at the end of your shift.
• Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience

Knowledge

• Understanding of Safety guidelines
• Strong knowledge of applicable warehouse functions and RF systems

Skills/Abilities

• Ability to select at established minimum rate for department
• Astute, close attention to detail
• Understand and properly follow all selecting procedures and verbal instructions in your respective area: grocery, repack, cooler/freezer.
• Possess an understanding of procedures in other areas of the warehouse for a more global understanding of all processes

Physical Environment/ Demands

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
• Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery Operation
• Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures.
• Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
• Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work related equipment
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
