Job summary

UNFI in Hopkins, MN is seeking an Order Selector to pull customer orders in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will operate Electric Pallet Jacks, verify items and locations, and ensure pallets are correctly packed and staged.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork as you contribute to timely order fulfillment. The position starts at $26.01/hr with incentive pay to $28.01/hr for maintaining a 100% picking rate for two consecutive weeks.

Qualifications

• Warehouse/Operations experience preferred but not required.
• Understanding of WMS preferred but not required.
• Good judgment may be required when direct supervision isn’t available.

Responsibilities

What does it mean to be a part of the Order Selection team?

In this fast-paced role, you are the boots on the ground and responsible for accurately and efficiently pulling customer orders within the warehouse. This role requires strategic thinking and attention to detail while palletizing orders and ensuring they are placed in the correct assigned locations. You will operate motorized equipment including Electric Pallet Jacks while ensuring that you safely and accurately move product within the warehouse. Pay

• Starting at $26.01/hr
• Incentive Pay: Maintain a 100% picking rate for two consecutive weeks and your pay increases to $28.01/hr

Essential Functions And Basic Duties

• Inspects assigned jack for safety issues.
• Enters the proper information into the productivity measure.
• Identifies the correct pick location and pick sequence in accordance to the order.
• Picks the correct item and quantity, checking UPC’s or item descriptions.
• Places pick labels on the side of the cases.
• Correctly identifies Master Case locations.
• Identifies and immediately reports miss-located products.
• Shrink wraps and labels with correct truck, stop and other required information.
• Stages pallets in appropriate bay.
• Immediately informs a foreman, supervisor or manager of any potential safety threats.
• Obtains aisle-cleaning assignment.
• Operates pallet jack/pushcart in a safe and efficient manner.
• Builds a stable and well cubed pallet.
• Parks and recharges pallet jack in its appropriate spot at the end of your shift.
• Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location.
• Other duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements

• Selector functions are completed in accordance with Company standards and procedures including quality standards and safety regulations.
• Effective communication and coordination exist with Company personnel and with management. Assistance and support are provided as needed.
• Deadlines are met.

Required Knowledge

• Understanding of Safety guidelines.
• Strong knowledge of applicable Bakco functions and RF systems.

Experience Required

• Warehouse/Operations preferred but not required.
• Understanding of WMS preferred but not required.
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Skills/Abilities

• Ability to select at established minimum rate for department.
• Astute, close attention to detail.
• Understand and properly follow all selecting procedures and verbal instructions in your respective area: grocery, repack, cooler/freezer.
• Possess an understanding of procedures in other areas of the warehouse for a more global understanding of all processes.

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.
