Job summary

UNFI in York is seeking an Order Selector for the FLEX team who pulls customer orders in the warehouse and ensures correct locations and labeling. You will operate Electric Pallet Jacks and palletize loads with care, contributing to a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

Starting wage is $22.75 per hour with a raise after two consecutive weeks of productivity, plus a $2.00 per hour weekend differential. Must be 18+, able to lift up to 75 pounds, and work varied schedules including Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Warehouse experience selecting is preferred but not required.
• Lifting 20–60 lb weights consistently.
• Occasionally pushing, reaching, pulling, and gripping.
• Must work in various temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Identify pick locations and accurately pick items.
• Inspect equipment for safety before use.
• Select correct item and quantity, verify UPCs or descriptions.
• Apply labels to cases with correct information.
• Shrink wrap and label pallets for transport.
• Stage pallets in bays and build stable pallets.
• Operate pallet jack/pushcart safely and efficiently.

What does it mean to be a part of the FLEX Order Selection team?

In this fast-paced role, you are the boots on the ground and responsible for accurately and efficiently pulling customer orders within the warehouse. This role requires strategic thinking and attention to detail while palletizing orders and ensuring they are placed in the correct assigned locations. You will operate motorized equipment including Electric Pallet Jacks while ensuring that you safely and accurately move product within the warehouse. Schedule

• 9:30AM- 6:00PM
• Must work Saturday- Pick from available days after training (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday)
• Must be able to train for 2 weeks (Monday- Friday 1st week, Sunday- Thursday 2nd week)

Pay

• Starting wage is $22.75/hour with a pay increase upon 2 consecutive weeks of hitting productivity
• Plus $2.00/hr Differential for time work on weekends

Position Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• Warehouse experience selecting is preferred but not required
• Lifting objects weighing from less than 20 to 60lbs consistently
• Occasionally pushing, reaching, pulling, and gripping
• Must have the ability to work in various temperatures

Job Responsibilities And Accountabilities

• Identify the pick locations and safely pick the items
• Inspects assigned equipment for safety issues
• Picks the correct item and quantity, checking UPC’s or item descriptions
• Places labels on the side of the cases
• Shrink wraps and labels with correct truck, stop and other required information.
• Stages pallets in appropriate bay and builds a stable pallet
• Operates pallet jack/pushcart in a safe and efficient manner
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Physical Environment/ Demands

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
• Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery Operation
• Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures.
• Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
• Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work related equipment.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
