Location Description

The Post Consumer Brands plant in Asheboro, NC, features some of the most modern cereal production technology in the industry and the facility has quadrupled in size since it opened in 2007. Asheboro's 230+ team members produce some of our newest and most innovative cereals, like Oreo O's cereal! While there is plenty to do right in Asheboro, the town is only a few hours from the Atlantic Ocean in one direction and the Blue Ridge Mountains in the other direction.


Responsibilities

Work Schedule: 12-hour shifts following a 2-2-3 schedule (84 hours over 2-week period)

Week 1: Mon Tue on - Wed Thu off - Fri Sat Sun on

Week 2: Mon Tue off - Wed Thu on - Fri Sat Sun off

Job Activities/Duties:

This position is responsible for accurate receiving, storing, picking and loading of product using powered mobile equipment as well as inventory control activities. In addition, this position requires an additional job skill certification from one of three other functional areas (Bulk Unload back up, Yard Switcher Operator or Team Lead back up) as determined by management.

Expectations include:

  • Safe operation of powered mobile equipment (forklift/clamp truck)
  • Safe and accurate shipping and receiving of orders to and from our internal and external customers
  • Verifying location, item and count through a Warehouse Management System
  • Evaluating quality of products ensuring they are shippable and taking necessary corrective action
  • Optimizing loads to reduce damage and ensure ease of unloading at destination
  • Accurately completing appropriate documentation
  • Selected candidate must work toward and obtain certification in one secondary area of either Bulk Unload back up, Yard Switcher Operator or Team Lead back up, as determined by management
  • Assisting with the sanitation of warehouse and keeping the facility always audit ready

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of warehouse, manufacturing, or related experience is preferred

Skills:

  • Intermediate level warehouse knowledge to include the ability to understand the operation of department equipment
  • Ability to work within a team environment and communicate effectively and efficiently within the team
  • Ability to use RF Handheld Scanner, operate a sitdown forklift, and operate a clamp forklift after successful completion of forklift certification
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and taking photos
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in the English language
