Job summary

Shorr Packaging Corp. in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Warehouse Operator to move, locate, stack and count product using powered equipment, supporting our customers with customized packaging solutions.

This role requires 1–3 related experience or training, familiarity with RF scanners and WMS, and willingness to obtain forklift certification; you will work in a climate-controlled facility with safety and teamwork at the core.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• 1-3 related experience and/or training as a warehouse operator; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience with RF Scanners and Warehouse Management System (WMS) preferred
• Proficient reading and writing skills and ability to follow directions
• Forklift certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Fill customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
• Prepare proper shipping documents
• Move inventory materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas
• Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed
• Open bales, crates, and other containers
• Maintain warehouse equipment
• Assist with any secondary warehouse duties: receiving, put away, shipping, and assembly
• Keep warehouse area clean including sweeping the floors and picking up loose materials
• Other duties as requested
