Job summary

T.G. Lee Dairy is hiring a Warehouse Operator to perform a range of warehouse and inventory tasks in a cooler/refrigerated environment. You will unload and load trucks, read production and shipping orders, and move items by hand, cart, or forklift.

Strong attention to detail and teamwork are required to maintain accuracy and safety. Responsibilities include cycle counts, inventory records, and ensuring quality and cleanliness in all coolers.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–2 years in warehouse, distribution, or related roles.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Forklift certification may be required.
  • Able to read and write English; basic math and inventory skills helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Unload/load trucks and move items within warehouse and cooler.
  • Read orders and prepare shipments and inventory.
  • Verify bills of lading for accuracy.
  • Record inventory and perform cycle counts.
  • Maintain organization and safety in the warehouse.
  • Operate a forklift when needed.

Job description

T.G. Lee Dairyhas an immediate job opening for a well-rounded Warehouse Operator to perform various warehouse and inventory tasks. Receive, process, store, move, and distribute items (products, materials, ingredients, equipment, supplies, etc.) within a warehouse or cooler/refrigerated environment. Unload and load trucks, truck trailers, cases, pallets, stacks, etc. Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas by hand, hand truck, or electric hand truck. Record received and shipped items. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Work within clearly defined processes and tasks.

RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Load and unload stacks and move items as assigned; sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence, such as size, type, style, color, or product code
  • Sort and store perishable goods in refrigerated area
  • Maintain organization, rotation of stock, and neatness of all coolers and warehouse
  • Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other items and distribute to production workers
  • Accurately pull and prepare customer orders for shipping and for efficient loading onto trucks/trailers
  • Check all information for accurate shipment of customer orders; check bills of lading for accuracy before any product is shipped or received; check products for cleanliness and condition prior to loading
  • Use computer to accurately scan or enter/maintain inventories and records
  • Complete daily pick sheets, cycle counts, and production take backs
  • Assist with monthly inventory counts, year-end inventory counts, and cycle counts as required
  • Monitor materials, product, and equipment at each step of the process and report irregularities or concerns to supervisor
  • May sort, bundle and fill containers or place in assembled units
  • May mark or put identifying labels on product loads
  • May operate a forklift, including a standing forklift, to load and unload trucks and move inventory from one location to another
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
  • Follow all DFA GMP’s and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements. Inform QA personnel of any quality issues

SCHEDULE:

  • Monday-Friday: 3:00 pm until complete (typically end time is 1:00 am but can vary due to business needs)
  • Occasional weekend/holiday work may be needed

RATE OF PAY:

  • $21.50 per hour

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 2 years of warehouse, distribution, production, or related experience
  • Valid driving license is required
  • Certification and/or License – may require forklift, walk behind jack, or other related work certifications
  • Able to work in a team environment and contribute to the overall success of the warehouse/cooler team
  • Able to perform accurate basic math computations and inventory counts
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing (including legible writing)
  • Able to perform routine machine adjustments
  • Able to adapt to changing situations and perform tasks as assigned
  • Able to follow directions
  • Able to work with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to perform tasks and duties without constant supervision
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
