Job summary

Gehl Food & Beverage in Germantown, WI is hiring a Warehouse Operator for the 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 7 AM–3 PM). The role involves safely operating a forklift or reach truck, handling inbound/outbound shipments, inventory control, and ensuring safety and quality standards.

You’ll use handheld scanners and the Ross ERP system, participate in FIFO/FEFO rotations, and collaborate with production and logistics teams.

Qualifications

• Standup forklift or reach truck experience is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to use Microsoft Windows and warehouse/inventory software.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process customer orders in the Partial Pallet area and ensure documentation is correct.
• Unload, validate, and inspect ingredients and materials from suppliers.
• Put away and pick materials to support production needs.
• Maintain FIFO/FEFO inventory rotation for ingredients and finished goods.
• Unload/load finished goods to ship to customers and other locations.
• Process paperwork for material and finished goods movements.
• Ensure materials and finished goods meet quality and documentation standards.
• Support inventory rotation and assist other teams as needed.

Position Overview

The Warehouse Operator is responsible for safely operating a forklift or reach truck to manage inventory and inbound/outbound shipments in a fast‑paced environment. Daily tasks may include partial pallet picking of finished goods, unloading inbound ingredients and packaging materials, pallets and other supplies, and transferring materials and finished goods between facilities. This role requires a focus on Safety and Quality, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to multi‑task. Organization, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize are also critical to success.

What You’ll Do

• Accurately process customer orders in the Partial Pallet area. Pick, pack and wrap finished goods to order specification. Ensure all related documentation is accurate for order processing.
• Unload, validate, and inspect ingredients, packaging materials, pallets, and other materials from suppliers.
• Put away and assist with picking materials from various warehouse storage locations to support our production needs.
• Hold responsibility for FIFO/FEFO inventory rotation of ingredients, finished goods and materials.
• Unload and load various finished goods to ship to our customers and other warehouse locations.
• Process all necessary paperwork for material and finished good movements.
• Ensure all materials and finished goods meet our quality and documentation expectations.
• Support proper inventory rotation.
• Support team members in Operations, FSQ, R&D, and other areas of Gehl Foods in a timely and professional manner.
• Work with personnel from external trucking companies, warehouses, and other business partners.
• Consistently ship what is needed on time to deliver to our internal and external customers.
• Use handheld scanners, Ross ERP system, and other technology critical for this role.
• Store and pick finished good pallets in the AS/RS system.
• Perform warehouse sanitation and organization work as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Perform job responsibilities and other duties, as assigned, in full compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including accurate and thorough documentation and execution of tasks.
• Standup forklift or reach truck experience.
• Ability to support warehouse functions in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to use various computer systems, including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Warehouse and Inventory systems, etc.
