Job summary

New York Air Brake in Springfield, MO is seeking a Warehouse Operator for 1st shift. The position pays $18/hr with benefits starting day one. Responsibilities include receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping materials; reading pick lists; and ensuring accuracy in SAP and UPS World Ship.

You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, be forklift-certified, follow safety policies, and work in a fast-paced team at one of Knorr-Bremse's rail industry locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of related experience preferred.
• Forklift operation certification preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Understand the receiving process and how to store customer and in-house material.
• Read pick lists and select correct material for shipping.
• Pack, band, and wrap material for shipping.
• Operate SAP shipping functions and UPS World Ship.
• Follow customer routing guides and adhere to procedures.
• Adhere to Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
• Ensure compliance with relevant statutory or regulatory requirements.
• Support Integrated Management System policies and KPIs.

Essential Functions

• Understand the receiving process and how to store customer and in-house material.
• Be able to complete receiving reports accurately.
• Understand how to read “pick” lists and be able to select correct material for shipping.
• Be able to pack, band, and wrap material for shipping.
• Understanding all shipping functions in SAP and be able to use UPS World Ship and customer data base (LTL).
• Understand all customer routing guides and adhere to procedures.
• Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
• Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
• Must understand and support all Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.
• Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.

Supervisory Responsibility

The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
