Description

Warehouse Forklift Operator

Zink has an immediate opening for three experienced Fork Lift Operators for our second shift, Monday-Thursday from 5 pm to 3:30 am.We are seeking a dependable warehouse forklift operator who is detail oriented, good with numbers and able to meet the physical needs of the position. You will play a key role in the daily activities of the warehouse from the receipt and warehousing of finished goods to the preparation of product for shipment. Duties also include staging, delivery and pickup of packaging items for the finishing floor. We are looking for someone who not only performs assigned tasks but who also asks why and how the task relates to other tasks and the complete operation of the warehouse and company. Forklift certification for both sit-down and stand-up and previous warehouse experience is mandatory.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with all receiving, shipping and inventory management operations.
  • Work under supervision of warehouse manager.
  • Pull packaging materials and deliver to the finishing area for production.
  • Return unused materials to their assigned location after production is completed.
  • Count and verify receipt of finished goods.
  • Pull items for shipping from pick list while verifying item, location, quantity and lot number.
  • Verify pulled items and quantity against packing list.
  • Wrap, band and label product for shipment.
  • Assist in periodic cycle counts of inventory.
  • Load and unload trucks in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Receive and place new deliveries of packaging materials in assigned locations.
  • Move and transfer product as needed recording item number, quantity as well as original and new locations.
  • Use forklifts, pallet jacks and hand carts in accordance with company policies and procedures to receive, transfer and deliver raw materials and finished goods.
  • Work with other operators and manager to double check all items for inventory and shipment.
  • Maintain a clean work and safe work environment.
  • Report any discrepancies or inconsistencies in process or procedure to warehouse manager.
  • Follow all warehouse policies and procedures.
  • Conduct yourself in a way that promotes health and safety rules at all times.
  • Work with other warehouse operators and warehouse manager to effectively complete assigned tasks.
Qualifications

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Previous warehouse experience.
  • Current forklift certification or ability to complete certification training.
  • Ability to regularly lift product and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent basic math skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Familiar with common warehouse tools and equipment.
