Position Summary
The Warehouse Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient handling, storage, preparation, and shipment of chemical products within the warehouse and distribution facility. This position ensures accurate order fulfillment, compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and maintains a clean, organized, and secure warehouse environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure product quality, accuracy, proper labeling, and compliance with shipping and safety requirements (common carrier, company trucks, or customer pickups).
- Pull, stage, and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare and verify shipping documentation including Bills of Lading and other required shipping paperwork.
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Safely move materials throughout the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, and handheld scanners.
- Prepare drums, totes, and containers for shipment, including proper labeling and packaging.
- Assist customers and drivers with product pickups and loading.
- Maintain warehouse organization and cleanliness including sweeping, waste disposal, and general housekeeping.
- Ensure the warehouse and facility remain safe, secure, and compliant with company safety policies.
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and hazardous material handling guidelines.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories as required.
- Identify and report damaged product, equipment issues, or safety concerns.
- Ensure the facility is properly secured at the end of each shift.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse and plant operations.

Education, Experience & Certifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Forklift experience required; must be able to safely move heavy drums and totes containing chemicals and solvents.
- Prior warehouse experience preferred (1+ year).
Work Schedule
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–4:00pm with a one-hour lunch break.
- Warehouse setting with regular exposure to warehouse conditions.
- Work involves handling chemical and solvent containers, including hazardous materials, following established safety procedures.
- Use of warehouse equipment including forklifts, hand trucks, box cutters, and tape dispensers.
Communication Skills
- Ability to read and interpret business documents, procedures, and regulations.
- Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedural documents.
- Ability to communicate effectively with managers, customers, and the public.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and move large drums/totes in a warehouse environment.
- Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Occasionally sitting, climbing, or balancing.
- Lift/move: up to 10 lbs. regularly, up to 50 lbs. frequently, and over 100 lbs. occasionally.
- Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
