Job summary

Ryerson is seeking a Warehouse Operator in Commerce City, Colorado, to maintain stock levels and production on the shop floor. You will support material handling, assembly, and order readiness in a fast-paced metal products environment.

The role includes crane/forklift operation, receiving and shipping duties, and on-the-job apprenticeship onboarding to develop core warehouse skills within a leading metals company.

Qualifications

• Some experience working in a warehouse and manufacturing setting.
• Forklift/side-loader experience preferred.
• Ability to safely operate the Overhead crane preferred.
• Must be able to accurately use standard measuring tools (tape measure, micrometer, and caliper).
• Basic computer skills and/or comfort using a computer.
• Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility.

Responsibilities

• Pulling and staging feedstock for production orders.
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer specific orders.
• Packaging of material to customer requirements.
• Daily machine operation to produce parts to customer specifications.
• Work order confirmation on computer.
• Operating an overhead crane, forklift, and side loader to move material as needed.
• Truck loading/unloading.

As a Warehouse Operator at Ryerson, you will be responsible for maintaining stock levels and production on the shop floor.

Requirements

• Successfully pass a skills-based assessment - evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
• Some experience working in a warehouse and manufacturing setting
• Forklift/side-loader experience preferred
• Ability to safely operate the Overhead crane preferred
• Must be able to accurately use standard measuring tools (tape measure, micrometer, and caliper) as well as pneumatic hand tools
• Basic computer skills and/or comfort using a computer
• Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility
• Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding

Pay Rate: $28.20/hr. A starting pay rate higher than $28.20 is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale.
