Job summary

Ryerson in Los Angeles is seeking a General Warehouse Associate to maintain stock levels, prepare production feedstock, and support shop floor operations. You will work with forklifts, overhead crane, and standard measuring tools to meet customer requirements.

This role includes daily machine operation, file work orders, and packing, with an enrollment in a registered apprenticeship program. The position pays $29.26 per hour and offers hands-on training in a dynamic, quality-focused metals

Qualifications

• Ability to safely operate overhead crane
• Experience with CTL, CNC burning and plasma
• Proficiency with standard measuring tools (tape, micrometer, caliper) and pneumatic hand tools
• Willingness to work overtime as needed
• Enrollment in a registered apprenticeship program as part of onboarding

Responsibilities

• Pull and stage feedstock for production orders

As a General Warehouse Associate you are responsible for maintaining stock levels and production on the shop floor.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Pulling and staging feedstock for production orders
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer specific orders
• Packaging of material to customer requirements
• Daily machine operation to produce parts to customer specifications
• Work order confirmation on computer
• Operating an overhead crane, forklift, and sideloader to move material as needed
• Truck loading/unloading
• All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements

• Ability to safely operate the Overhead crane preferred
• Prior CTL, CNC burning and plasma experience preferred
• Must be able to accurately use standard measuring tools (tape measure, micrometer, and caliper) as well as pneumatic hand tools
• Must be willing to work overtime when needed
• Successfully pass a skills-based assessment - evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
• Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding

Pay rate: $29.26/hr . A starting pay rate higher than $ 29.26 per hour is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale.
