Job summary

Ryerson is seeking a Warehouse Operator in Spokane to maintain stock levels and support production on the shop floor. You will pull, stage, and break down feedstock, package material to customer specs, and perform daily machine operations to meet customer requirements.

Candidates will join a registered apprenticeship program during onboarding. Prior warehouse/manufacturing experience and forklift/ crane familiarity are preferred; basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Operate daily machines to produce parts per specs.
• Record work order confirmations on a computer.
• Move material with overhead crane, forklift, and side loader as needed.
• Load and unload trucks.

As a Warehouse Operator at Ryerson, you will be responsible for maintaining stock levels and production on the shop floor.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Pulling and staging feedstock for production orders
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer specific orders
• Packaging of material to customer requirements
• Daily machine operation to produce parts to customer specifications
• Work order confirmation on computer
• Operating an overhead crane, forklift, and side loader to move material as needed
• Truck loading/unloading
• All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements

• Successfully pass a skills-based assessment - evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
• Some experience working in a warehouse and manufacturing setting
• Forklift/side-loader experience preferred
• Ability to safely operate the Overhead crane preferred
• Must be able to accurately use standard measuring tools (tape measure, micrometer, and caliper) as well as pneumatic hand tools
• Basic computer skills and/or comfort using a computer
• Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility
• Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding

Pay rate: $24.02/hr . A starting pay rate higher than $ 24.02 per hour is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale.
