Job Title: Warehouse Operative
Reporting to: Warehouse Supervisor
Direct reports: None
Department: Warehouse & Logistics
Business Unit/Organisation: Barnsley (Premdor)
Purpose of the Role

The main purpose of this role is to support business operations and customer demand by ensuring the safe and efficient receipt of products from production into the warehouse, the safe and effective storage of products, and the timely dispatch of products from the warehouse.

Main responsibilities
  • Pick products correctly and accurately, and in line with specified deadlines.
  • Be accountable for the quality of the work you carry out.
  • Move stock around either by hand, using lifting equipment or a forklift truck.
  • Ensure that all lifting and maneuvering of products is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures.
  • Operate in a safe manner, complying with all health, safety, and environmental requirements to ensure your safety and that of others.
  • Demonstrate personal integrity by being trustworthy and honest.
Qualifications & experience
  • GCSEs level D-G, Key Skills Level 1, NVQ Level 1, International Vocational Certificate (IVQ).
  • A counterbalance forklift truck license and/or VNA license is essential.
  • Previous order picking experience.
  • Excellent timekeeping and good attendance in previous employment.
  • Trustworthy, open, honest, and constructive.
  • Flexible approach to duties and tasks; able to adapt to current and future business needs.
  • Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure or poor quality.
  • Willing to undergo training on low-level order picking trucks.
  • High level of numeracy and literacy, as work is allocated through data terminals.
