Warehouse Operations Supervisor 2^nd Shift

The primary goal of this role is to ensure the timely and accurate picking, sorting, and loading of outbound products for next-day delivery. This fast-paced, production-oriented environment requires effective coaching, training, and communication to meet or exceed departmental and individual goals. The supervisor manages labor budgets, forecasts volume, and continuously seeks process improvements.

Essential Functions:

1. Work Sunday – Thursday on 2^nd shift; flexibility for peak periods is required.
2. Work in a warehouse and cooler environment (~34°F).
3. Supervise a team of 20-30 employees focused on accurate and timely order fulfillment.
4. Participate in budgeting and forecasting for labor and volume, monitor workload, and meet production and budget targets.
5. Manage deadlines effectively, setting goals to achieve departmental and company objectives.
6. Identify opportunities for process improvements to reduce costs.
7. Lead and support team members by providing tools, evaluating performance, and motivating staff.
8. Contribute to succession planning and team development.
9. Communicate effectively with management and other departments, both verbally and in writing.
10. Oversee hiring, performance management, and leadership within the department.

Physical Demands:

The physical requirements include talking, hearing, reading, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, operating equipment, and lifting up to 60 pounds. Vision abilities needed include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, along with focus adjustment.

Qualifications

Requirements:

1. Minimum of 3 years experience in logistics or warehouse operations, with automated or manual processes.
2. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills.
3. Ability to adapt positively to change and motivate others during transitions.
4. Experience with Warehouse Management Systems and proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
5. Experience handling perishables is preferred.
6. Operating forklift, power jack, or order picker is a plus.
